ABOUT MIDWEST PEDIATRIC SPECIALISTS
We are a privately-owned, pediatric subspecialty practice located in Overland Park, Kansas. Our areas of subspecialty care include pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric critical care medicine. Our critical care team provides inpatient pediatric services at Overland Park Regional Medical Center, which is conveniently located next to our office building.
Our doctors have many years of experience in their chosen subspecialty. They are all board-certified and provide comprehensive care for children suffering from acute and chronic medical conditions. Our physicians care for children with complex medical illnesses and recognize the critical importance of responsive and caring communication and, therefore, are always approachable to both patient and family.
We typically see children suffering from more serious illnesses than those in a general pediatric clinic. Some examples include diabetes, growth disorders, gastroesophageal reflex (GERD), inflammatory bowel disease, respiratory issues such as asthma or RSV, heart disease, seizures, injuries including head trauma, and more.
We provide comprehensive care for complex medical disorders both in the inpatient and outpatient setting. Our providers see children in clinic on a regular basis. Should there be a need for hospitalization, we can seamlessly care for the needs of the patient. Our pediatric critical care specialist collaborates with us to provide care in a pediatric intensive care unit staffed by trained pediatric nurses. Our physicians come together with a common ideal. The goal is to provide a family-friendly pediatric subspecialty practice by allowing the providers to spend ample time diagnosing, educating patient and family, and treating the patient. We are always willing to spend the extra time our patients often require. We recognize that successful management of chronic medical conditions requires a partnership between the patient, family, and provider. Our doctors recognize the importance of removing barriers that can exist between a patient with complex medical conditions and their subspecialist. As a privately-owned, physician-run organization our reputation is based upon providing the highest standard of medical care with a personal touch.
Easy, Direct Access to Physician
Our experts are immediately available to discuss your child’s medical condition. The family or their primary care provider can talk directly with your board-certified specialists any time day or night.
No Bureaucracy
Our specialty-trained experts are with families every step of their health journey. We offer one-to-one, direct access instead of having to go through multiple layers of care before seeing the specialist.
Fast and Convenient
Our focus is to provide quick access to appointments instead of waiting several weeks or months for an appointment. This expedites diagnoses and information about your child’s disorder. We offer fast, direct response from the specialist who will be communicating directly with the patient and family.
Ample Time Spent with Patient
Our doctors determine the amount of time needed with each patient, especially for treating complicated disorders. As a physician-run organization, no administration dictates how much time is spent with the patient or how many patients must be seen in a day.
Personalized, Local Community Presence
It is our belief that children with complex medical conditions can be managed successfully close to home. We operate out of a local community hospital and our clinic is right next to the hospital. We keep families close to their local support system, providing both convenience and reassurance during a stressful time.
Our mission is to provide superb pediatric specialty care through clinical excellence, up-to-date advanced diagnosis and treatment protocols, and family-centered care.
